Pop Up Sales est une exposition réunissant des œuvres originales d’artistes issu·e·s du projet archipel, dédié depuis 2023 à la scène photographique émergente en Belgique.
Toutes les œuvres ont été produites ou coproduites par Contretype et sont proposées à des prix accessibles, de 60 à 250 €. L’intégralité des bénéfices sera reversée aux artistes, sans remboursement de frais de production engagés ni commission de vente.
Pop Up Sales exprime une conviction simple : la photographie contemporaine peut être à la fois exigeante et accessible – un art vivant, ouvert à toutes et à tous.

Contretype presents Pop Up Sales, an exhibition featuring original works by artists from the Archipel project, dedicated to Belgium’s emerging photographic scene.
All the works, produced or co-produced by Contretype, are offered at accessible prices (€60–250), with all proceeds going directly to the artists. By waiving any return on production costs and any commission on sales, Contretype reaffirms its commitment to supporting artists, fosters encounters between contemporary photography and new collectors, and shares the vitality of today’s creative scene.
Pop Up Sales celebrates a simple conviction: contemporary photography can be both rigorous and accessible — a living art form open to all.
Pop Up Bingo-Photo-Rateau

Au cours de leurs fameux Bingo-Photo-Rateau, Cécile et Katherine proposent au public une partie de bingo endiablée pour plonger au cœur de l’ambivalence de leur projet Just My Luck.
Dans une ambiance conviviale, elles vous invitent à prendre une grille, mais également à vous engager, en cas de gain, à accepter votre lot, qu'il soit très attractif ou plus confrontant.
Au gré du tirage aléatoire de photos prises dans des bars PMU (hauts lieux de la convivialité et des jeux de hasard), elles vous livrent des histoires touchantes, émouvantes, révoltantes et/ou drôles tirées de Just My Luck, une enquête de 7 années menée auprès de personnes dont la vie a été bouleversée par un gain à la loterie. De nombreux lots à gagner… Que la chance soit avec vous! (ou pas)
Bingo-Photo-Rateau a été produit avec l'Institut pour la photographie à Lille.

During their famous Bingo-Photo-Rateau, Cécile and Katherine invite the audience to a wild game of bingo that plunges participants into the ambivalence at the heart of their project Just My Luck. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, they encourage you to pick up a card — and to commit, should you win, to accept your prize, whether it’s highly appealing or a bit more challenging. As randomly drawn photographs taken in PMU bars (iconic places of conviviality and games of chance) appear, they share touching, moving, outraging and/or funny stories from Just My Luck, a seven-year investigation carried out with people whose lives were transformed by a lottery win.

Lilly LULAY — City Portraits
Depuis 2015, Lilly LULAY développe la série des Mindscapes, comme une pratique de déconstruction / reconstruction de l’image menée au gré de ses itinérances artistiques.
Accueillie en résidence à Contretype du 14 avril au 25 mai 2025, elle a réalisé City Portraits Brussels présentée dans le cadre du pop Up 2025.

Since 2015, Lilly LULAY has been developing the Mindscapes series as a practice of deconstructing and reconstructing images, shaped by her artistic wanderings. During her residency at Contretype from April 14 to May 25, 2025, she created Mindscape Brussels, presented as part of Pop Up 2025.

Les workshops du Pop Up 2025 se dérouleront entre le 22 novembre et le 14 décembre 2025, avec trois propositions : Pensée paysage animé par Hélène Petite (22–23 novembre), Organic Image Making & Recuperation conduit par Nick Verhaeghe (6–7 décembre), et Ballgame / How to re-perform reality mené par Federico Clavarino (12–14 décembre)
The Pop Up 2025 workshops will take place between November 22 and December 14, 2025, featuring three sessions: Pensée paysage led by Hélène Petite (November 22–23), Organic Image Making & Recuperation led by Nick Verhaeghe (December 6–7), and Ballgame / How to re-perform reality led by Federico Clavarino (December 12–14).
